New Moon in Leo: Passion, Fire & Chaos

This is one hell of a fiery moon. Depending on how we are focusing that energy, we can either end up feeling anxious and frustrated, or motivated and fiercely passionate. Most likely, we’ll fall somewhere in between, flip flopping between uncertainty and wanting to create from a deep place within.

This moon is so divinely supported for creating and manifesting. Leo is associated with the heart, passion and creativity — it’s asking us to dig deep and let our hearts explode in passionate yearning.

If you released all limiting beliefs and self doubt, what would you dream for yourself?

Instead of instantly thinking, “that could never happen” or “that seems so far out of reach,” allow your dreams to pulsate, to thrive. Don’t squash your dreams before they even have a chance to breathe.

We are co-creators in this life.

What we want wants us, we just have to get out of our own way. Once we embrace and truly believe that, everything is possible.

With the ability to create beyond our wildest dreams, also comes our shadow. This new moon can bring up huge self doubts — we may feel unworthy or that we’re not enough. We may feel pressure to do more, to be more. We may feel like we don’t fit the mold, that our ideas are too out there, too far-fetched. The places our shadow can take us are endless.

So we see our shadow, give it space, work with it, and understand its root. And then we let it go, we release it, we burn it, using it as fuel for our journey forward. We face it, head on, we take control and say “no more.”

Mars and the dwarf planet Eris are aspecting this moon. Mars, god of war, and Eris, goddess of discord and chaos, are making sure we see our shadows. They’re also urging us to do something about it. Mars is about taking action. Not just dreaming and wishing, but actually moving forward, taking the next step. The energy of Eris can feel like pure chaos, seemingly unhelpful and destructive, but underneath the intense wild of Eris, is a deeper layer, with purpose. It is disruption to make way for more — more of your truth, your power, your gifts.

So ask yourself on this new moon, what is it that you truly want? Listening to the deepest, purest part of you, the part that knows how to dream big.

What the Soul wants comes from the depths of Self. It isn’t grabby or clingy. It’s patient, knowing that this want, this dream, is already yours.

This new moon occurs on August 18, 2020 at 10:41 PM EDT.
